Volunteering in Conservation – with Anna Clere

In addition to our paid government agencies, volunteers play a critical role in protecting and enhancing our natural environment. Over 1000 not for profit groups are engaged with protecting our natural environment and / or sustainable living in New Zealand and they all rely on the help of their volunteers.  Anna Clere is the Manager of Volunteering Otago, a not for profit group that assists people to find  mutually rewarding volunteering opportunities in the Otago area.

In February 2014, I chatted with Anna to find out what we can expect when we become a volunteer, why volunteering brings so many benefits to us as well as to our environment, and how Volunteering Otago is able to match people with a volunteering opportunity that works for them.  To listen to the this programme on VOLUNTEERING with my guest Anna Clere please contact Maureen on ecolivinginaction@gmail.com
