Talk about electric bikes seems to be all the rage in Dunedin lately. And I’m seeing more and more of them on the roads and cycleways. Its no wonder because they make so much sense on Dunedin’s hilly terrain! This programme follows on nicely from a couple of previous shows here on Eco Living in Action – one on the joys and environmental benefits of riding electric bikes and one on travelling by electric cargo bike as a main mode of transport.
On this show I chat with Matt Kraemer about converting your bike to electric to create your own custom made electric bike. It’s a great alternative to buying a custom made bike – and we discuss how you can decide whether this is the right option for you, as well as share some of the basics on what you need to do to convert your bike.
Matt Kraemer has a small business here in Dunedin called Easy As part of his business he assists people by doing the technical stuff and converting your bike to electric for you! He specialises in mid-drive conversions.
